Christina Eatmon, PMHNP

I am a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and have over 4 years of nursing experience in the psychiatric field with adolescences, adult and geriatric inpatient care in a hospital and correctional setting. I received my Associate in Science in nursing from Jefferson State Community College in Birmingham AL in 2016. I worked at the University of Alabama at Birmingham on the medical surg ical unit for 3 years. During that time, I received my Bachelor of Science in nursing 2018 where I was also inducted in Sigma Theta Tau honor society. I returned to school to obtain my Master in Science in n ursing as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner with a subspecialty in nursing education in 2022. I moved to Huntsville AL to begin my journey at Wellstone Emergency Services in a crisis stabilization facility. I then transitioned to Valley Behavioral Service in April 2023. My focus is on the treatment of mood disorders, trauma, psychotic disorders, substance abuse and chronic mental illness through psychiatric assessment, medication management and brief psychotherapeutic intervention. I believe in creating an individualized plan of care that values client involvement, interprofessional collaboration and evidenced-based practice. My goal for my patients is to feel empowered to treat their illness through supportive education in a stigma free environment.
