Marlana retired from the Navy after 20 years of service with 5 years of experience as a Career Counselor. She graduated from Youngstown State University in Youngstown Ohio in 2011 with her Master's Degree in Clinical Counseling. She was licensed in Ohio from 2011 until 2019. After she moved to Huntsville AL when her husband accepted a lecturing job at the University of Alabama in Huntsville, she obtained the Licensed Professional Counselor through the Alabama Board and has been a National Certified Counselor through the National Board for Certified Counselors since 2012. Marlana has worked with individuals with PTSD, anxiety, depression, helping people adjust to changes in life, and older populations just to name a few. She has a second Master's degree in Gerontology. Marlana utilizes CBT, Solution Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing techniques to assist people in making positive changes in their lives and improving their coping skills. She joined Valley Behavioral Services Aug 2021.
