Tanya M. Gooden, WHNP-BC, PMHNP-BC earned her BSN in 1982 and MSN in 2003 from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and later obtained her Post-Masters Certification as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner from Samford University in 2023. With over 30 years of diverse nursing experience, she has developed expertise in neonatal care, women's health, and utilization management, with a strong focus on psychiatric nursing over the past five years.
Her practice centers on treating patients of all ages with mental health disorders, including depression, anxiety, mood disorders, trauma, substance abuse, and other chronic mental health conditions. Tanya employs a holistic approach, providing individualized psychiatric assessments, medication management, and psychotherapeutic interventions in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team. Her goal is to empower individuals with mental illness by equipping them with the tools, coping skills, support, and education needed to thrive in a stigma-free environment.
